Reeeeally Cool Event at Lake Eola
My apologies for not posting this BEFORE the event actually happened, but I totally spaced. This past Saturday at Lake Eola, the peeps from 903 Cityside threw a day/night party. They got national DJs Gavin Hardkiss and Q-Burn’s Abstract Message to play, as well as a live band. I was told by the people throwing the party that the purpose was to call attention to how underutilized our parks are.
It was really cool to hear house/techno/whatever you want to call it music echoing across the lake. We brought our son, and we weren’t the only parents who did so. There was a great vibe, the beer was cheap, and the music was phenomenal. Sure, there were a few partiers who were grinding their teeth with their eyes rolling back in their heads…but it’s pretty much a given that you’ll see that anyplace a DJ is playing phat beats. Still, instead of teenagers with pacifiers and glowsticks there was a fantastic light show.
I’ll be sure to give everyone a heads-up if a similar event comes to any of our fine city’s parks. We left before the cops shut the party down at 11 PM, which was a lot later than I thought they would do so due to the volume of the music and proximity of old folks. Good times.
Hey that sounds like fun. I’m one of the Atlanta Bloggers, but like to check out Orlando since I lived there for 4 years. Q-Burn and Hardkiss at Eola sounds like very good times, which I was there.
hey I just wanted to let you know that CitySide is having another event similar to the one with Q-Burns. This time it will be Labor Day this Monday… R. Garcia, Divinci, and XenLab. Just thought you may want to know…
your neighbor and friend…
