Florida Moves Towards Healthier Lunches

The only things I really remember about my elementary school lunches are selling my pizza every Friday for $1 and finding silver in my fish ‘filet’ one day that turned me against seafood forever.

In middle school I ate Funyuns and lemonade every day (which turns my stomach now) and by high school I wasn’t eating lunch at all. In any case, I applaud the Florida schools that are changing their breakfast and lunch menus to give kids healthier options.

I do believe good eating habits can be developed early on and while I tend to think schools drop the ball on such things as extracurricular activities, it’s a nice change of pace to see them taking some responsibility for what they feed our children while they are there.
