Mimi’s Cafe at The Mall at Millenia

Blog Girl and I met up with some of my former colleagues tonight for dinner at Mimi’s Cafe at The Mall at Millenia. This was my first visit to Mimi’s, but I don’t think it will be my last. The service staff was very attentive, the prices were reasonable, the portions were sufficient and the food was tasty. Blog Girl had the broccoli and cheese quiche with a green salad and one of their famous banana nut muffins (which she saved for breakfast Saturday morning) while I had the Turkey Ciabatta sandwich with lettuce, mayo and Sun Dried Tomato Pesto and a side of (here, I was a bad boy) french fries rather than soup or salad. My only complaint was that I found the Ciabatta bread to be rather tasteless, but the condiments on the sandwich made up for the missing flavor in the bread. Our dinner-mates had a variety of items ranging from meat loaf and steak to citrus salmon and walnut salad and all seemed to enjoy their individual dishes.

The atmosphere and decor is “New Orleans” style with lots of Mardi Gras beads adorning any piece of decoration they can, from the alligator head to the mounted buck head above the waiting area fireplace. There are 3 separate dining rooms as well as a bar for waiting patrons.

If you haven’t yet had a chance to try Mimi’s, I’d recommend it as an enjoyable dining experience.

I have been eating at Mimi’s since it opened and return regularly. I am quite pleased now that another location has recently opened in Altamonte Springs (SR 436 near the Florida Hospital).
