Delaney Park

I recently moved from Ocoee to downtown — Delaney Park area. And I have to confess that I love it! I knew I enjoyed the downtown area, but I didn’t realize until a few years ago how revitalized it has become in the last decade or so.

I confess that I don’t know who started this ball rolling but I must applaud them. Perhaps it was Glenda Hood or maybe her predecessor, but whomever it was I must thank them. They have taken an impoverished, downtrodden and homeless refugee camp and turned it into a thriving, friendly, happy place to live, work and send our children to school!

In fact, its getting to the point of becoming like a winter park. I’m really glad I made the move even though the house is slightly smaller. I love the character of the older neighborhoods with the trees and the older houses.

There is some land being cleared near us for new condos. They haven’t even broken ground yet and they are almost sold out and the starting price is well over $400K. That’s the only downside to all this growth.
