A product recommendation

As you may already have realized, I spent some time at local malls.
I like malls, I have to add. Sometimes you can find a tiny little fragment of a better world hidden in those endless shelves and displays… for example this wonderful piece of consumer culture. It’s not only a wonderful piece of cheap Chinese labor — it is also a very valid statement about consumer culture itself. Long live the metaphor!

Yeah, but the last laugh is on us as they slowly poison us with cheap lead based paint!

At my previous apartment, we had a monkey-themed bathroom, crowned by a strange portrait I found at a truck stop of a chimp using the toilet.

This would have been perfect for it!

We have a monkey themed bathroom too, the centerpiece is a toilet paper holder I got for my wife one Christmas that features 3 monkeys sitting on top of each other totem pole style. They are acting out the “hear no evil, see evil, speak no evil” thing, except in the context of the bathroom it seems to denote: “Don’t look, don’t listen and hold your nose” in regards to what is going on!
