Huh?

Have you ever noticed that you cannot go to Daytona Beach without seeing something that makes you say, “What the HECK…??”

I saw these chairs–they look like part of a sky ride from an amusement park–sitting outside of a nondescript, independently-owned beach motel in north Daytona Beach. They are not attached to a wire. There is no sign stating that they were once part of a ride. I saw no evidence that they were historically important or part of a resort theme. There is nothing, in fact, except these two chairs bolted to a pole next to their beach access ramp! Good ol’ Daytona…you never know what you’ll see…

Pretty sure they used to be on the Daytona Beach pier. There’re from the old sky ride that was blown down in the hurricanes a couple of years ago along with most of the pier itself.

I have to agree with you on the D.B. oddities. You never know what you’ll see when you drive through that town.
