Tis’ the Season

With Halloween looming right around the corner, and increasing adds for Universal’s Annual Halloween Horror Nights it’s hard not to get in the mood. I recently broke out my pumpkin patterned boxers and I must say it put me very much in the spirit of things.

My roommates and I were brainstorming the other night as to what to do to celebrate Kelly’s (a roommate) birthday. And as no one presented any options other than drinking, I proposed the idea that we call as many people as possible and roll to I-drive to visit the Skull Kingdom. I hadn’t been since I was in middle school and was eager to be childish for one night and check it out. If you’re an Orlando resident and you don’t know what I’m talking about, shame on you. Anyone who’s driven on I-4 has seen the giant skull acting as the entrance to this three story, year round haunted house.

So, after having many people accuse the Kingdom of being “lame” we gathered an essential ten people and made our way out to International Drive. Unfortunately, we turned the wrong way and set ourselves back about fifteen minutes, but that’s beside the point (make sure and use Mapquest before departure to make sure you know where you’re going).

Eventually, we arrived and I must say I was impressed before even entering. I think it’s important to want to have fun before you get there as it is rather cheesy, but with a big group of people all excited about it, I think the fun to be had is limitless. We entered welding coupons (the coupons are good for buy one ticket get the second half price and can be found here), which made the experience that much more exciting, due to the discount.

Ok, so on to the actual haunting. As far as I could tell they ran only a three man crew, in which one took the tickets and the other two ran seamlessly through the house changing outfits and jumping out to hear countless screams from the girls in the group. I don’t want to give too much away as I highly recommend taking a night and heading out there, so you

Sounds like an excellent idea! I’ll see if we can get a group of “old farts” [35-50 year-olds] to make the trip to I-Drive.
