The Skill To Heal… The Spirit To Care…

Well you can all exhale out now, Jenn has returned. What? You didn’t know I was even MIA! Anyways.. I didn’t leave The Sunshine State, nor The City Beautiful infact. Nope. I didn’t even leave out of a single room for a whole week. Well, some of you out there might have guessed it by now, but I spent a week at our lovely Florida Hospital South (Orlando location). On the 9th floor to be exact.

It all started last Monday not feeling so hot, went to ORMC ER to be checked out, had a real bad UTI and then rested all day Tuesday when by 2 pm that afternoon, I could not pee! (I know grossssss!!! )I woke up and went to the restroom and freaked out. By 7:30 it concerned me with a great deal of stress and panic, that I dialed the beloved numbers of 911. Can you believe they did not answer the first time. I had to hang up and dial again. (I swear.)

Got transported to Florida Hospital South, was placed in the ER waiting room as a “non emergency” visit. After 3.5 hours I was taken back to a curtain pulled area in the er, told to put a gown on, and that a doctor would be with me shortly. An hour later in comes a nurse and she starts to drawl blood on me. Then walks in the doctor. She looks at me, looks at the problem area and preps for a Foley cath to be inserted. Ya, the fun had just started. Then I heard the words I was dreaming of hearing right then and there.
“Were going to be admitting you to the hospital.”

Thank you Jesus! In short version… I had a nice experience at Florida Hospital South. Spent exactly a week there, the staff was nice, the drugs were excellent, the food so-so and the free anytime you want to watch cable tv on them EXCELLENT. Plus how could I leave out the ever loving “NURSE CALL” button. I used that more than I would like to admit. I’m a whimp when it comes to pain and well why can’t I come home with one of those gadgets. Anyways… over all I rate it a 4.3 on a scale of 5 being the BESTEST!

Okay, you may now go back to your lives.

I’m glad you’re ok!! I like most of the Florida Hospitals. I’ll be delivering at the one in Altamonte, I’ll let you know how they rate sometime after (I hope) Thanksgiving.

AnnMarie- I heard your going to be a adding to your family. CONGRATS! Oh and I have been to Florida Hospital Altamonte, was there for a week back in the begining of May. They rated a 4.8 on my scale. It’s clean, sharp looking and well nice.

I had my son, at Florida Hospital South back in 1997 and well it rated a 5.0 in book for that experience. The nurses were sweet and well best of all, my room was right smack across the hallway from the snack room. Where I could get any juice drink and or snack at my liking with out bothering the nurse to get up or stop what she’s doing to help out another patient. :0)
