At the risk….
At the risk of telling everyone about my favorite beach — I have to brag about it. We’ve been searching for a new “beach home” since the hurricanes last year destroyed many Atlantic beaches with massive erosion.
We’ve tried several and while we still have a fondness in our hearts for New Smyrna, our new favorite has to be Jetty Park.
We went today and it was NEAR NIRVANA. The waves were calm enough to snorkel (even my youngest — age 6 was doing it!), the water was CLEAR (gasp) and there wasn’t many people to be found. I realize this is in part because it was a Monday. Regardless … it was heaven.
I must take a moment and comment that the snack bar/bait store/restrooms building that is currently under MAJOR rennovation and won’t be ready for some time. They do have showers still set up. They are new ones that I must admit are very nice with two buttons to push - 1. for the body, 2. for the feet only. Very considerate options!
I think this is where we’ll beach it for the time being — although I heard today from another fellow beach goer that you can now drive again on New Symrna. I haven’t checked that out yet.

Jetty Park is infamous for their dolphins too. Last time I was there which was about a year and half ago, they still had the dolphins that come up almost close to you out in the water. Don;t know if there still there or not. Keep your eyes out next time your out there Dawn. It’s very neat to see them really close.
