Disney’s “Twilight Zone Tower of Terror” reopens

(Orlando, FL-AP) July 13, 2005 - Disney World has reopened the ride “Twilight Zone Tower of Terror” a day after a British girl almost died after riding it.

Leanne Deacon is still in critical condition after suffering cardiac arrest minutes after leaving the ride. It depicts a haunted elevator that plunges more than 100 feet.

Disney invited an official from Florida’s Bureau of Fair Rides and Exhibitions to monitor Tuesday night’s inspection of the ride. Florida’s major theme parks police themselves and aren’t directly regulated by the state.

Officials haven’t released exact details of what happened to the girl. Police said she felt nauseated and dizzy after leaving the ride. Last month, a four-year-old boy died after riding the park’s “Mission: Space” ride.

Damn, Disney is not having a very good summer is it? This is the last thing they need after the whole Mission: Space debacle which Dawn mentioned. Perhaps they need to make those ‘DO NOT RIDE if…’ signs a little more prominent.
