Mmmm… barbecue…

If you want real, stick-to-your-ribs barbecue and are a little tired of Sonny’s, head up the road to Apopka and Porkie’s Original BBQ. I convinced my family to try it for Father’s Day, and it was soooooo good.

It’s reasonably priced, has a comfortable atmosphere with a great staff, and the food is out of this world (unless you’re a vegan or afraid of having a heart attack any time soon). Try the brisket, and the summer slaw. And Jim’s Dirty Taters (skins-on red potatoes roasted with garlic and onions)…

Definitely a keeper.

If you want even better BBQ, keep heading down 441 to Mount Dora, turn left at Lincoln and follow it to Grandview. There you’ll find Sugarboo’s, the best BBQ in the state of Florida.
