7 Theme parks… and counting.

Sea World announced plans for a new theme park. Do we honestly NEED ANOTHER theme park in this area??? Don’t get me wrong, I love Sea World and have annual passes, but with Busch Gardens nearby, this expansion would technically make number 8!!!

Eight folks. And can our roads and infastructure handle another park in the I-4 Corridor? I really appreciate all the money Universal spent to redo the exits around Universal so as to stream line the tourists in rental cars who can’t read a map. But will Sea World do something similar??

Some of the rumors are that it won’t be a theme park, but rather a water park. But Sea World isn’t speaking officially about the expansion at this time and won’t until the fall. So it’s all speculation at this point.

Here’s an exerpt from the article:

SeaWorld Orlando is planning its first major expansion in five years — a 58-acre attraction it hopes to open in 2007, the company confirmed Friday.

Spokeswoman Becca Bides confirmed the plans but said the company won’t offer any details until the fall. It would be about a third the size of SeaWorld and larger than Discovery Cove, the 30-acre park that opened in 2000.
