Tonight’s Orlando Metblog Meetup

I just got back from this month’s Orlando Metblog writers’ meetup, and all I have to say is: where were you people?!? I want excuses on my desk by Monday morning! Detention for all of you!

Seriously, you missed a nice meetup. The Masked Blogger, Solonor, his wife, and I met up at Urban Think bookstore at 7pm. We grabbed some books and found comfortable seats (of which there are several). I came across a cool book called Fast-Talking Dames, about old-school actresses like Greta Garbo and Katharine Hepburn. Good stuff.

By 8 o’clock, we realized that no one else was going to show up. I didn’t feel like cooking dinner, and The Masked Blogger was also hungry, so the four of us went to Anthony’s Pizza a few doors down. Slow service, but our Pizza Margarita (tomato chunks, fresh garlic and basil, and mozzarella) was quite yummy.

Anthony’s smelled like 2001. Don’t ask me why. For some reason, the smell of the place just reminded me of the year 2001.

I’m looking forward to the next meetup, although perhaps we should meet somewhere that doesn’t require us to pay for parking. Anyway, it was a nice evening.

While it’s true that we missed everyone else, the four of us managed to have a good time. Urban Think has become one of my favorite bookstores and Anthony’s sells a good pizza.

But I do have to beg to differ on one point…Anthony’s smelled more like 1999 to me, LOL.
