Florida Film Festival

The Florida Film Festival is here! It’s running through next Sunday. I’m volunteering for the seventh year in a row, which means I get to watch festival movies for free!

-Shorts Program #2 is very good.
-Shorts #3 are mostly good.
-Don’t waste your money on the Midnight Shorts. They’re uniformly unfunny. I laughed maybe 3 times.
Pucker Up: The Fine Art Of Whistling and Pizza are both cute, if forgettable.

I also caught part of Boxers and Ballerinas during my volunteer shift last night. The audience really seemed to like it. Some people even stood up and applauded at the end.

Later in the week, I’m checking out Murderball, Mardis Gras, On the Outs, and Kiss Me Deadly. I’ve heard good things about all four. Oldboy is supposed to be great, too, but I didn’t get a chance to see it.

Have you seen any festival movies? If so, I’d like to hear what you thought of them.
