So That’s Why The Roads Flood!

City street crews made a shocking discovery while cleaning storm drains in Orlando.

Numerous guns were found last weekend in storm drains, WESH NewsChannel 2 reported.

Early Saturday morning, 16 guns were revealed during a routine storm-drain cleaning.

In two drains on Curry Ford Road, crews found .22-caliber, .44-caliber and even 9 mm guns.

“The crew was shooting the water through the drain and then they saw the guns clumped together and they said, ‘We better stop,'” said Mike Heffinger, of the Florida Department of Transportation.

According to authorities, the guns were extremely rusty and some were still loaded.

It has yet to be determined how the guns got in the storm drains; if they were stashed or fell out of vehicles.

“It’s all very odd. Why would someone collect all of these guns and then dump them down a drainage ditch?” said Sgt. Brian Gilliam, of the Orlando Police Department.

Now, Orlando police have to figure out where the guns came and whether or not they were used to commit any crimes.
